The Fairbairn House Heritage Centre was originally built in 1861 by Scottish immigrant and millwright William Fairbairn. In 2005 the house was moved to Hendrick Park where it has been fully restored into a heritage centre for the Gatineau Valley, and now sits proudly just a few steps from the Wakefield Covered Bridge. The original covered bridge, constructed in 1915, was destroyed by arson in 1984 and rebuilt by the community in 1997.
This historic setting provides a unique and magical venue for your outdoor wedding, whether on the Wakefield Covered Bridge or in the park.
"What a great staff you have, and how grateful we were to work with such a flexible and accommodating team! What really sold us were the beautiful historic location, and the proximity to the Covered Bridge. Overall we had a blast and we would definitely do it all over again!"
